Bet down to the second favorite, expectations were high for Busy Miss Lissy despite drawing the difficult post 8. Unfortunately, that outside post worked against the light-footed filly today, as she usually likes to unleash her lethal finishing speed in the final quarter.
She was left parked out, and it quickly became clear that pressing forward to the lead was the only viable option. She remained in front until about 50 meters from the wire, where All Time Trot slipped by, and in the final stride she also lost the battle for second.
All three fillies were credited with the same time, and Busy Miss Lissy earned $52,000 for her efforts.
A bit disappointed with how the race unfolded in the hours after, but absolutely not disappointed in our Small Town Girl.
Now the season is officially over, and it has provided a fantastic series of moments: 9 starts, 6 wins, a second, two thirds, a best record of 1:09.7, and roughly 2.2 million SEK earned.
